My Xbox One Rant

My recent purchase of Xbox One has left me in a perplexed state of awe. Four months after the Xbox One has been released. Microsoft are making updates to the console to fix issues that shouldn't exist in the first place. Yes, I'm referring to the social and friends update. The update which is suppose to fix the party chat, online friends list, and various other things. Seriously, this is something that wasn't implemented from the get go. My first time joining a party. I was talking to no one, because I'm not in party chat, like I so obviously should be. My friend texts to inform me, I have to start party chat after joining a party. What the shit! How the hell do I get back to party? On the 360, press guide select party, done. Where is the simplicity?

Other things I thought were pretty obvious that aren't implemented in this "Next Gen" console. Bluetooth and 1080p. For shit sakes. My phone has bluetooth and can support 1080p. But this big bad Xbox can't? Blu-Ray but only in 720p doesn't pan out. 4K televisions are emerging and Xbox One can't support 1080p.

Let's imagine the possibilities of bluetooth. My Programmable Wireless Dolby® 7.1 Surround Sound headset that I spent $300+ on will work. I can transfer files to and from my phone/tablet/computer. Whether I would use it or not, but a keyboard would be handy to use. I'm sorry but using a thumbstick to enter text blows.

A good option to the keyboard is Smartglass. Which to me, is a glorified "A" button. Anything you want to do that seems logical to do on Smartglass wants you to do it on the Xbox but use the Smartglass as a controller. Let's watch some House of Cards on Xbox. Hmm... what is in the store. I don't want to stop my show to look at the store. Why can't I browse the store, make a purchase, and start a download from Smartglass without interrupting my wife and I's viewing pleasure?

Oh I got a pre-order code lets see if I can enter it on Smartglass, where there is a nice keyboard.
Me: Hmm... Enter code... enter ... code...? Store?
       Smartglass: Play on Xbox One?
Me: No. I don't want to stop my show. I just want to enter the code.
I can not be the only one that thought this shit up.

I thought Smartglass was suppose to be this great companion for Xbox. It is just a glorified "A" button that starts apps for me. Smartglass for the 360 wasn't being utilized. Xbox One has great potential to utilize Smartglass but I'm not seeing anything happening. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
